Constable, NY
Richard R. "Dick" Woodworth, 85 of Constable, NY passed away Friday October 18th, 2019, at home surrounded by his family and the wonderful care of Hospice of the North Country
Born in Chelsea, VT June 18th, 1934, he was the son of the late Elmer and Florence Annis Woodworth. He attended school in Chelsea, VT.
Richard was a Dairy Farmer all his life beginning on Elm Rock Farm in Chelsea, VT. In 1971 he and his family moved to Fairview Farm in Constable, NY where his sons continue the dairy business today. Richard was also a milk route driver during the 1950's and 60's in the Chelsea, VT area.
He married Barbara LaFrancis, the love of his life, on August 30, 1958. She survives. Surviving family also includes one daughter and son-in-law, Carmin and Dave Poirier of Burke, NY. Two sons and daughters-in -law, Keith and Karen Woodworth of Burke, NY and James and Sharon Woodworth of Constable, NY. Grandchildren Kayla and her husband Shawn Jock of North Lawrence, NY: Shyanne and husband Matt Planty of Lake Placid, NY: Colton Poirier and his fiancee Arielle Holmes of Burke, NY; Adrienne and her husband Alex Schaal, of Pacifica, CA. Ben Woodworth and his wife Martha of Brandon, NY; Cody Woodworth and partner Eric Stevens of Waddington, NY; Allie Woodworth of Burke, NY; Marissa Woodworth and Chris Flack of Potsdam, NY; Shelby Woodworth of Constable, NY; and Jamie Woodworth of Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. Four Great Grandchildren; Dylan and Alexis Jock, Jacob Planty, and Carter Poirier. Richard was pre-deceased by a son Craige L Woodworth in 1984 as well as 1 Great Grandaughter Elizabeth M Planty in 2006.
Richard was an avid classic car collector. He still owned his first car, a 1954 Ford Crestline. He also collected antique Ford tractors.
Per his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Constable Fire Department, Constable, NY.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Spaulding Funeral Home, Malone, NY.
