Mr. Richard Wayne Williamon, Sr., age 88, of Silver Creek, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Williamon was born in Cedartown, Georgia on November 16, 1937, son of the late William Roy Williamon and the late Callie Louise Baker Williamon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Haney Williamon, and by three siblings, Leroy Williamon, Donald Williamon, and Betty Cummings. Mr. Williamon was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 10/1/1955 - 5/5/1959. He was stationed at Keflavik Air Force Base in Iceland. Prior to retirement, Mr. Williamon worked as a Finish Painter at General Electric in Rome. He was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church and the Caldonia Lodge #121 F&AM, where he had been a member for 60 years. Mr. Williamon loved cars and was an avid Alabama football fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Dollar (Lee) and Toni Davis (Steve); a son, Butch Williamon (Vickie); four grandchildren, Stephanie Dollar (Scott Collins), Tori Minter (Bo), Dustin Dollar (Stephanie), and Tristan Williamon; six great grandchildren, Tucker Williamon, Bayleigh Dollar, Mollie Minter, Charleigh Dollar, Luke Minter, and Millie Minter; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 4pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Tony Cargle officiating. The Rome American Legion Honor Guard will present military honors. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Williamon will be cremated following the service.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 2pm until 3:45pm.
Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers and include Tony Williamon, David Haney, Bobby Williamon, Jeff Williamon, Clint Cummings, Kevin Ray, and Chris Ray.
