Richard "Dick" Victor Wester, 88, died peacefully July 2, 2022 at Presidential Oaks home in Concord.
Born in Concord Jan. 23, 1934, to Carl G. and Olga I. (Menard) Wester, he graduated from Concord High School in 1952. After a brief employment at the Rumford Press, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and honorably served in Germany for two years. A career mechanic and lifetime Concord resident, he worked for Grappone Pontiac and then the New Hampshire State Department of Safety until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Cecile R. Chabot, a son, Capt. Richard J. Wester, U.S.C.G., and his wife Kathryn of Suffolk, Va..; two daughters, Susan D. (Wester) Rankin and her husband Thomas of Houston, and Terry L. Richman of La Jolla, Calif.; a brother, Karl F. Wester and his wife Silvana of Concord; seven grandchildren Luke, Erik, Ayden, Kathryn, Reed, Wade and Zane; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and three siblings, Herbert C. Wester, Robert I. Wester, and Sandra A. (Wester) Britt.
An avid outdoorsman, Dick enjoyed boating, hunting and ice fishing. He was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and minor league baseball and enjoyed spending time with family. Dick embodied his favorite saying, "Go with the flow"
The family would like to thank the staff at Presidential Oaks for the loving care they provided for Dick.
Dick wished to be cremated and buried at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hgwy., Boscawen, N.H. Funeral services with military honors will be held on Friday August 5TH at 10:30 AM in the chapel of the veterans cemetery.
