Richard Gene "Dick" Swanson, 87, of Highlands Ranch, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Englewood. He was born October 10, 1933 in Milliken to Albert and Marie (Lindberg) Swanson. When Richard was in the third grade, the family moved to their farm north of Windsor. He graduated from Windsor High School in 1951.
In February 1953, Dick married Edna Mae Reichert and they celebrated 68 years together. Early in his career, he worked for Great Western Sugar Company, later working for General Electric in their customer service department, retiring after many years of service.
Dick enjoyed fishing, golfing, square dancing, yardwork, and helping his three sons with many handy-man and home improvement projects. He loved his 1963 Ford Thunderbird and belonged to the Thunderbird Club in earlier years. Dick and Edna are members of Christ Lutheran Church in Highlands Ranch.
Thankful to have shared his life are his wife, Edna, three sons; Gary (Katie), Ken (Suzanne) and Ed, twin granddaughters; Gina and Amber Swanson, as well as siblings Norman and JoAnne Swanson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will host a Life Celebration at a later date. Memorial gifts may made to "Alzheimer's Association" in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
