Richard Paul "Rick" Stype, Jr., age 67 of Floral City, FL died at home on May 27, 2022 under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice.
Rick was born in St. Augustine, FL on December 26, 1954 to the late Richard P. Stype, Sr. and Elizabeth Specht Stype and came to Citrus County from Clearwater, FL. He owned and operated Stype Termite & Pest Control, Inc. for over 42 years. He and his wife, Hazel, attended auctions on the weekends for several years. Rick enjoyed spending time with friends and family fishing, shooting pool and playing golf. He was an avid fan of all Tampa sports teams and college athletics. He sponsored race cars at the Citrus County Speedway for years and was a former member of the Inverness Kiwanis Club.
Left to cherish is memory are his wife of 38 years, Hazel Rome Stype; 5 children: Ryan P. Stype, Altamonte Springs, FL; Troy Daniels, Baltimore, MD; Meagan Stype, DeLand, FL; Sabrina (David) King, Inverness; Terry Daniels, Inverness; sister, Kathy Ward, Kennesaw, GA; several grandchildren including Gracee Ann King, Savannah Jean King, Dawson James King and many great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 3:00 PM, from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Kramer of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until service time. The family encourages you to wear your favorite College or Tampa based sports team memorabilia to the service to honor Rick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rick's memory may be made to the Citrus County Animal Shelter, 4030 So. Airport Road, Inverness, FL 34450.
