Asheville, NC ~ After a long battle with cancer, Richard Dean Ray, 50, of Onteora Blvd, Asheville, NC went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 13th, 2011 at 11:00pm, at the home of his Aunts and Daughter.
He was born in Buncombe County to the late Carolyn Alline Borders.
He was a loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Newphew to many. He was an avid outdoor adventurer, and loved living life to the fullest.
He is survived by his Daughters Sammantha Ray, Brittany Scarborough, and Katelyn Ray, two grandchildren, Nakaylah Beavers and Nathan Gardner, Aunts and Uncles Wanda Ray, Gayle Ray, Pamela Shaw, David Ray, and Douglas Ray, and Brother, Roger Ray.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home - East Asheville on Tunnel Rd. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
