Richard Rahilly of Elkton, Maryland and formerly Friendswood, Texas died of lung cancer on July 22, 2024. He was 70 years old.
Richard worked for the RE Michel Co for 30 years and was Branch Manager of the Newark, Delaware branch at the time of his death. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America in the North East Troop 131 for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Virginia Rahilly of Friendswood, Texas
Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia, son Michael and wife (Lilly) Rahilly of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, his sister Nancy Wilburn of Zwolle, Louisiana, a nephew, Josh Wilburn of Zwolle, Louisiana and 2 grandsons, Joseph and Matt of Rocky Hill, Connecticut. He is also survived by his canine son Newt and his feline son and daughter, Bit and Kitty, all of whom will miss him so very much.
Richard was born and raised in Texas and was a loyal Cowboys fan. He will be remembered by his beard which was quite unusual and something he refused to ever cut. He was a quiet man who was very content watching Gunsmoke and Yellowstone when he was not working. He loved animals of all kinds and they loved him. His other passion was making homemade ice cream, which he did every weekend, year round.
He will be sadly missed by his family and also his canine and feline family,
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 11:00AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Brookview Cemetery.
