Richard Poulos
Age 83 of Wilmington, IL and formerly of Springville, TN, passed away February 13, 2020. Born November 22, 1936 in Chicago, Richard was a son of John and Ruth Poulos. He was raised and educated in New Palestine, IN, and went on to serve in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Richard worked for 30 years at Johnson and Johnson before retiring to Springville. He was a proud Marine who belonged to the NRA, and was active in the Lutheran faith where the members were like family to him. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his two children: Jean Solares of Des Moines, IA and Jay (Shae) Poulos of Stillwater, OK; (9) grandchildren: Adam (Liz) Poulos, Christopher (Stephanie) Poulos, Nathan Poulos, Lexie Poulos, Megan Treanor, Mathew Wick, Madison Wick, Tommy Solares and Leah Tackett; nine great grandchildren, Aiden and Evan Poulos who were his "little buddies"; brother, Ronald (Wanda) Poulos of Wilmington, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carla Marie (nee West); three children; Jill Wick, James Poulos, and John Poulos; two grandchildren: Richard Poulos and Cade Poulos and one sister, Carolyn Assmus.
Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service 12:30 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in WIlmington. (815-476-2181) Burial will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
