Richard Von Pippin, 84, went to be with his Lord on July 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Normal, Illinois on April 18, 1936 to the late Arthur and Kathryn (Fey) Pippin. Richard attended Morton Township High School, and earned his Master's Degree from Indiana State University. He spent 45 years as a minister in the United Methodist Church Conference, serving many churches in the the Wabash Valley, most recently at Peniel U.M.C, as well as Pimento, Prairie Creek, Bethesda, Barbour Avenue, and the First United Methodist Church of West Terre Haute. Richard was a dedicated volunteer, giving his time to fire departments, ambulance services, hospitals and any other organization needing a hand.
He never met a stranger, and loved to make people laugh. In his spare time he enjoyed baking, woodworking, and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Pippin, and his daughter, Darla Larsen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 11, 2020 at Peniel United Methodist Church in Brazil with Pastors Tom True and Kent Beckman officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Food Pantry or the charity of your choice.
