OBITUARY
Richard Earl Persinger, 86, of Emporia passed away Sunday June 2, 2013 at Holiday Resort.
Richard was born December 25, 1926 in Oak Valley Township, Kansas to Earl and Millicent (Chamberlain) Persinger.
He had been a farmer in his early years and had been a welder for Sauder Custom Fabrication, retiring in 1992.
Richard was a U.S. Army veteran having served in occupied Japan. Richard had been a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Emporia since 1963.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bill Persinger; granddaughter, Jennifer Nicole Werner; and great-grandson, Adrian Lewis-Solano.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Persinger; sons, Edward
(Debe) Persinger of Las Cruces, NM, and Ben (Loretta) Persinger of Emporia, KS; daughters, Alice (Bill) Fauerbach of Emporia, KS, Jean (Tom) Werner of Emporia, KS, and Milly (Mark) Gallik of Ruffsdale, PA; brother, Earnie Persinger of Longton, KS; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will take place at the First Church of the Nazarene 2931 W. 24th Ave. in Emporia, June 6, 2013 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
Graveside service will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, KS on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:30 p.m.
