Mr. Richard Grady Nichols
October 3, 1941 - October 1, 2020
Mr. Richard Grady Nichols, age 78 of Hampton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Piedmont Henry Hospital.
Mr. Nichols was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 3, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady P. Nichols and Ruth Lilly Nichols; granddaughter, Bridgette Nichols; brothers, Bobby Nichols and Ronnie Sapp; daughter in law, Beth Nichols. Mr. Nichols was a 12 year veteran of the United States Army having served from 1958 until 1970 and serving two tours in Vietnam. He was retired from Complete Auto Transit as a truck driver. He loved and enjoyed his family.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Queen Nichols; children and their spouses, Mike and Donna Nichols, Richard Nichols, Cynthia Nichols Vititoe, Steve Nichols, Eddie Nichols, Freddie Nichols, Jeanie and Jimmy Garrett; 14 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Diane Whitlock; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury. Burial will be in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
