He was born in Manchester, NH and graduated from Central High School. Served in US Army and was employed by City of Manchester for 40 years.
He retired in 1996 and fulfilled his wish of living on the seacoast and moved to Old Orchard Beach, Maine and also had a residence in Ocala Florida. Spent winters in Florida and that eventually became his permanent residence for over 20 years. In 2019 he moved to West Lebanon, NH to be close to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Claudette (Ouellet), his daughter Karen and husband Arnold Cushion, son Brian and four grandsons, Ryan, Adam, Sean and Patrick and his wife Korie. Five great grandchildren Joshua, Kinsley, Amelia, Maizie and Graycee.
He knew what he wanted out of life it was within his reach and he was content. He loved the outdoors and played golf for many years at Derry field and Intervale Country Club. He and his wife hiked all the mountains in NH, some in Maine and New York. They also loved biking and biked many trails and sometimes hiked from beach to beach in Maine. They also walked a lot and once participated in a walk on the seacoast from Kittery, Maine to Salisbury, Maine. In the winter they cross country skied many trails in NH sometimes skiing to an Inn for lunch in Jackson, NH.
Loved traveling and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada including land and sea cruises to Hawaii and Alaska. Many cruises in the Caribbean and visited Ireland, England and Paris, France.
He was well liked and those who knew him well will remember him for his wit, sense of humor and respect for everyone. He will be greatly missed and our family will never be the same without him. He leaves an ongoing spirit and his legacy lives on through his family and everyone he touched. He had a love for all things Irish and he now joins his parents and siblings for a happy gathering.
