52 passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at The Kent R. Hance Chapel. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary. Richard was born on September 27th, 1968 in Levelland, TX to Richard, Sr. and Bernice Luckey. Richard attended Estacado High School, where he was an outstanding athlete in their Competitive Athletic Program under the leadership of the late, great Coach Louis Kelly. He was a member of the baseball team where he served as a pitcher and a member of the 4A District Chaps football team, know to the locals as "The Matador Shufflers." Richard attended South Plains College, then went on to enter into Concho Career Institute where he received his certification in electronics. Richard graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School with his Associate Degree in Culinary Science and also a ServSafe Certified Instructor. Richard leaves to cherish his memory; his son, Tre'Von Luckey (Chanel); two grandsons, one sister, Darletta Luckey (Ken); three brothers, Douglas Polley (LaWansa), Darius Luckey, and Ahmad Luckey; a host of other relatives and friends.
