Richard Lemke, 83, husband of the late Carole Lemke, passed away comfortably on June 10, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on March 26, 1939, in his family home in Meriden, CT. He was the son of the late Richard Lemke and Helen Lasko Lemke.
Richard graduated Meriden High School and attended Hillyer College and University of Hartford. He served in the United States Navy. Richard worked for Pratt and Whitney, Yankee Telecom, and Meriden BOE.
He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Mary's Men's Club, Meriden Turner Society, Sons of Herman, American Legion Post 45, and Sint Maarten Yacht Club. Richard, also knowns as Biddy by his grandchildren, loved to watch the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Steelers, and UConn Huskies.
Richard is survived by is daughter, Nancy Twarog and her husband and Richard's drinking buddy, Stanley, his son Richard Lemke Jr. and his wife Angela; his grandchildren, Stacia McCutchen and her husband Shea of Opelika, Alabama, Adam Twarog and his wife Colleen of Middletown, Katie-Lynne Recinos and her husband Christian of Berlin, and Jenna Twarog and her partner Lexi McClelland of Middleboro, Massachusetts, Nicole Garrison and her husband Dave; and two beautiful great granddaughters who brought him joy on their visits, Adalind Twarog and Kamila Recinos.
Funeral Mass is private. There will be a Celebration of Life on August 20 at the Meriden Turner Society. All are encouraged to attend to honor Richard. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Meriden Turner Society, 800 Old Colony Road, Meriden, or St. Mary's Catholic Club, 90 Willow Street, Meriden.
