Clinton, CT- Richard R. Kimball, 78, of Delray Beach, FL and Clinton, CT passed peacefully at home with loved ones on March 14, 2021. He was born May 21, 1942 in Springfield, MA to Irving and Pearl (Silverman) Kimball.
Rick spent his early childhood in Springfield, MA. The Kimball family moved to Longmeadow when Rick was in middle school and he later graduated from Longmeadow High School. After graduating from Wharton School of Business in 1964, he married his childhood sweetheart, Harriet Reisner. They moved to Michigan where Rick earned his Master's Degree in Packaging Engineering from Michigan State. Rick & Harriet returned to Longmeadow where they resided for 37 years during which time Rick was President of The Kimball Companies in East Longmeadow. Throughout the years, Rick was President of the East Longmeadow Chamber of Commerce and President of the Springfield Jewish Community Center. He also served in the Air National Guard.
At the time of his passing, Rick and Harriet had been together 67 years, married for 57 years. They had a loving and supportive relationship that many admired. Rick was predeceased by his parents Irving and Pearl and his son-in-law Anthony Richardson. Rick is survived by his wife Harriet, son Brian Kimball, daughter Suzanne (Kimball) Richardson, granddaughter Jasmine Richardson, two brothers David Kimball and wife Robin and Robert Kimball and wife Jenny.
Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a successful businessman and mentor to many. Rick led with integrity and compassion. He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and ability to debate on many topics. Throughout life, he enjoyed boating, traveling, and family time. He was a great athlete and later in life, he became an avid pickleball player. He will be greatly missed. Words will never be enough to summarize what an amazing man Rick was and the impact he had on this world and so many people throughout his life.
