Richard K. Daschle, 71, of Aberdeen, SD, died Friday, June 26, 2021, at Avera St. Luke's in Aberdeen, SD.
Private family services will be held.
Richard K. Daschle was born on November 23, 1949, to Pius and Irene (Kuebler) Daschle in Aberdeen, SD. He was the oldest of twelve siblings. He grew up and attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School with the class of 1968. He then enrolled in the United States Navy where he was stationed in Washington State before being honorably discharged in 1971. He furthered his education by attending Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND. He worked as a chef at The Radisson in Minneapolis, MN and The Ward Hotel in Aberdeen. In his later years, he worked for Menards and Ken's Fairway in the bakery department.
Richard was previously married to Marlys Chase, and together, they had three children: Rick, Amy, and Ryan.
Richard was a guy everybody liked. He enjoyed playing guitar and reading scripture to the residents at Faulkton Senior Living. He was intelligent and was especially good at math. He liked riding his bike, reading, and following sports.
Grateful for having shared Richard's life are his children: Rick Daschle, Amy Krueger, and Ryan Daschle; grandchildren: Christian Daschle, Carson Daschle, Cameron Daschle, Kaelie Krueger, Reagan Krueger, and Tori Krueger; and siblings: Robert Daschle, Margaret "Peggy" Ernst, Jonathan (Pattie) Daschle, William (JoAnn) Daschle, Ronald (Liz) Daschle, Patrick (Cindy) Daschle, Irene Meier, Anna Mary Daschle, Andrew (Ann) Daschle.
Preceding Richard in death are his parents, Pius and Irene Daschle, and brothers, Michael and Kenneth Daschle.
