Richard Joseph Francois, 88, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on October 26th, 2022, at Luther Manor in Dubuque.
Friends and family may visit from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday October 30th, 2022, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A private family funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dubuque.
Richard was born on November 26th, 1933, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Vincent and Helen (Morgan) Francois. He married Darlene Gerhard on September 25th, 1953, in Dubuque.
He is survived by his five children Sue Francois, Shari (Mike) Price, Sandy (Jeff) Wesenberg, Shelly Francois, Steven Francois, six grandchildren Noel, Tressa, Jenna, Matt, Ryan, and Alex, seven great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, sister Linda (Jim) Burridge, brothers Robert Francois and James (Janey) Francois, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Darlene on July 25th, 1992, his parents Vincent and Helen, great-granddaughter Hailey, and siblings Vince, Jean, Virginia, Ronnie, and Roger.
Thank you to all the health care workers that assisted Richard these past couple of years.
