Richard P. Hudak, 88, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
He was born in Akron and retired from East Ohio Gas Company after 40 years of service. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Korean War Veteran's Group and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Verna Hudak; brother, George; and sister, Sylvia. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine; daughter, Kim (Brian) Gedrich; sons, Kevin, Todd and Mark Hudak; grandchildren, Chelsea (Josh) McCarty, Victoria (Ian) Wally and Brandi Hudak; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Kate McCarty; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2101 17th St. SW Akron, Ohio 44314 where friends may call one hour prior to Mass. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the church. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
