Mr. Richard Cliff Goolsby, 67, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m.. Sunday, February 14, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Reviere and Rev. Manuel Bailey officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Lincoln Center.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tab Reed, Eddy Turner, Greg Norman, Larry Campbell, Bill Bradford, Wendall Sasser, Billy Reed and Jim Atkins. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Salazar, Buddy Dallas, Bill Hammond, Fast Times Coffee Club, 5 Shot Supper Club and Goolsby's employees.
Mr. Goolsby was born on March 24, 1953 and the son of the late Clifford Myers Goolsby and the late Doris Wilkinson Goolsby. Richard had quite an extensive medical career serving as an Emergency Medical Technician, Transplant Team Coordinator at the Medical College of Georgia, taught continuing education courses at Augusta State University, physicians assistant working in orthopedics, physician's assistant working in family practice and was athletic trainer and life long Red Devil supporter. He was owner of Goolsby's LLC for the past 26 years, and also enjoyed cooking for family and friends in his outdoor kitchen. Richard enjoyed family vacations, photography and all things that were Lincoln County.
He was survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Ann Goolsby, daughter, Cara G. Miller and husband, Kyle; son, Wilkinson Cliff "Wilkes" Goolsby and wife, Megan; grandchildren, Emerie, Everly, Carrington and Lennox; sister, Nancy G. Childers and husband, Don; and many other extended family members.
