He married his childhood sweetheart, Helen, and raised a beautiful family in a beautiful home during their 57-years of marriage. Even when he wasn't at work he was still working – helping fix up his kids' homes, preparing meals for family gatherings, watching and making hand-made crafts for his grandkids, or doing odd jobs around the house to keep himself busy (he never sat still!) He was devoted to his family, his work and the Red Sox. He rarely ever missed a Red Sox game, and he never missed a day of work. For over 20 years, Pup coached softball for the Billerica Girls Softball Association. When he wasn't working or coaching, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports from a distance. He enjoyed going down to the Cape as well as his annual trips to Maine with his family. His eyes lit up the room and his smile put warmth in your heart. He made everyone feel loved and special and never judged. We love you Pup!Visiting hours will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3-6 p.m. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to the Jimmy Fund, View the online memorial for Richard Gadourey (https://www.lastingmemories.com/richard-gadourey)
