Richard Armand Fredette Jr., 73, of Boscawen, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. Born on October
15, 1950 in Kittery, ME, he was the son of the late Richard Sr. and Evelyn (Downes) Fredette.
Richard grew up in Kittery, ME and shortly after graduating high school, he joined the United States
Army in 1969. During his time in the Army, he was awarded numerous awards for his bravery and
dedication, and in 2007, he retired as Sergeant Major after 38 years of faithful service. After retirement from the military, he became a school bus driver for the Merrimack Valley School District, and was also a funeral service attendant at Bennett Funeral Home.
In his free time, Richard loved to help others and was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters, and would frequently take
them on family adventures. He enjoyed camping with his family and spending time at the lake.
He is survived by his loving wife Kandy Fredette; daughter Jacki Egounis and husband Adam; brothers
Robert Fredette and Gary Fredette; sister Patsy; granddaughters Paisley Egounis and Abby Egounis; and
many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Jacky.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bennett Funeral
Home, 209 N Main St, Concord, NH. A burial will occur Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at New
Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
