Richard “Dick” Coury, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at home in Stuart, Florida. Born and raised in Plainfield, he lived in Watchung before moving to Pine Beach. He also spent his winters in Stuart, Florida.
Dick graduated from Plainfield High School in 1955 and he and his late brother, Bobby, owned and operated Coury’s Auto Body in Plainfield which they founded together in 1958.
Dick was an avid boater and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to all.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah; his sons, Richard Coury, Jr. (and his wife, Litty) and Darren Coury (and his wife, Suzanne); his daughter Diana Coury Hofmann (and her husband, Chuck); his grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Taylor, Ryan, Kasey and Dylan. He was predeceased by his daughter, Dawn, who passed away in 1985.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood, on Wednesday June 15th from 4 PM to 8 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday June 16th at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
