Age 84, of Talpa passed away peacefully on March 19, 2021 at Holy Cross Hospital, with his wife by his side. Richard was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He served as a Boom Operator during the Vietnam War. He received six commendations and the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal for his honorable service. Among being well decorated Richard was part of the Taos Optimus Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, a firefighter, and worked for the U.S. Forest Service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melquiades and Beatrice Coca, brothers, Gilbert, Alex, Andy, and Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Emma B. Coca, daughters, Mary Anne Lamb, Sherry Wenzle, Denise Barry, and step-daughter, Cecilia Martinez, sisters, Celina Montez, Florina Grant, Molly Starr, Lorraine Coca-Ruiz, Joanna Maestas, Lillian Coca, and Kathy Pacheco, brother, Leo Coca, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday March 31, 2021 at 10AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with private family interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3PM.
