Richard (Dick) Budd, 81, passed away at home with his loving wife and daughters by his side on April 27, 2020. He was born February 4, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Jane (Dunham) Budd.
On his 18th birthday, Dick joined the US Army . He honorably served from 1957-1963 and was assigned to the 1st Airborne Battle Group 327th Infantry. He was an active Auxiliary member of the Adamson-Warmuth VFW #6624 in Evans, Colorado.
On July 13, 1963, he married Mary Ellen King in Livonia, Michigan. They had two daughters, Cheryl and Colleen. Dick and his family moved to Greeley in 1977, when was he transferred for his work at Moore Bearing.
Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. His passion was NASCAR and could be found every Sunday in his garage watching the race with his best buddy and family. He was a devout parishioner at St. Peter's Catholic Church and was an usher and a greeter for many years. Above all, he loved and adored his family, especially his granddaughters. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Dick is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; daughters, Cheryl Miller, Colleen (Myron)Hora; granddaughters, Alyssa (Chris) Baker, Hayley Miller, Samantha Hora and Mackenzie Hora; siblings, Phyllis (Pat) Gallagher, Gerald Budd, Sharon Humes (Bob Dinkelacker) and Linda (Gary) LaBelle.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Hospice of Northern Colorado or St. Peters Catholic Church in Care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
A private mass and graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2020. A Life Celebration Memorial will be held at a later date.
