Rhett Glass Crompton

Rhett Glass Crompton, 79, of Richmond, VA, died Saturday, September 14, 2024, following a brief illness. Born in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Powell Glass Jr., of Lynchburg, VA, and the late Marianna duPont Hanckel, of Charleston, SC. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anne Cleghorn Glass Cothran, of Tryon, NC, and Alicia Middleton Glass of New York, NY. An avid tennis player, she was a longtime member of the Middleburg Tennis Club before moving to Richmond to be closer to family. She was also a devoted fan of Schnauzers and of Roger Federer, whom she excitedly cheered on in person at the All England Club when he won his final Wimbledon title in 2017.

She is survived by her son, Chad Anderson, of Richmond, and his wife, Megan Anderson; her grandchildren, Carter Anderson and Rhett Anderson; and her nephew, Michael Cothran, of Nosara, Costa Rica, his wife, Jaime Cothran, and children Aidan, Callan and Lana. Memorial donations may be sent to Best Friends Animal Society.
