Reverend Michael S. 'Mike' Bequeath , 74 Jun 10, 1945 - Sep 22, 2019 Reverend Michael S. "Mike" Bequeath, 74, Martinsburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away peacefully at The Village at Morrisons Cove. He was born in Hagerstown, MD, son of the late Dennis and Helen (Settles) Bequeath. On May 11, 1969 he married Linda Kay Blickenstaff.
Surviving are his wife; a brother, Terry C. Bequeath; and two sisters: Judy a Gaylor and Penny S. Richardson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James D. Bequeath.
Mike received a master's degree in Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in 1986. He retired as a Pastor from the United Methodist Church after serving several charges in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Altoona and an elder in the United Methodist Church.
Mike volunteered at Epworth Manor, The Village at Morrison's Cove, CONTACT Altoona and the Altoona Hospital.
Friends will be received from noon until the 12:30 p.m. celebration of life service on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at The Village at Morrison's Cove, Pastor Linda Banaszak officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, Md.
Arrangements are by E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc. 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona.
