Rev. Floyd Lambert, age 80, went home to see his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 5th. Floyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, pastor, and dear friend. Floyd was known for his faith in Jesus. He had a tireless dedication and an unexplainable love for God, his ministry, his family, and to Freedom to Worship Church, where he was the pastor for over 28 years. Throughout the years of his ministry, he conducted and was involved in many revivals, funerals, and weddings and baptisms. Floyd left a legacy of faith and work in the ministry. He was a gentleman with great integrity. He had a genuine heart of service to God and the needs of people. He was a giver, always worrying about other people more than himself, regardless of his condition. In his earlier years he served in the armed forces, Army division and was stationed in Germany. He later came back to Maryville to become successful in the flooring business in which he and the love of his life ran until 2006.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie B. Lambert; mother, Ethel Lambert; brothers, Jack, J.D., Jimmy; sister, Myrtle McKinsey. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 48 years, Sue; their children, Sheena (Greg) Wilson, Randy Lambert, Sam (Becky) Humphrey, Charlie (Angela) Lambert; many grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2023 at Smith Trinity Chapel. The Going Home Celebration Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Todd Hoskins officiating.
