Rev. Dr. Green Lee Wallace passed away on June 23, 2021 to go be with the King he loved. Lee was born on March 15, 1950 in Cadiz, Kentucky and grew up in Stewart County, Tennessee. After serving as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, he obtained his seminary degrees. He was the pastor of three wonderful congregations! Ansonia Ohio First Church of God; Mt. Sterling Kentucky First Church of God and Knoxville Tennessee First Church of God. Lee was currently serving as the Congregational Care Pastor with Reverend Jason Scott at Knoxville First Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Harrison Wallace and Keoka Wallace and brother, Timothy Ray Wallace, Attorney at Law. Lee is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Austin Wallace; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Matthew Welch; grandsons, Austin, Preston and Brennan Welch; son, Adam Kristopher Wallace and Adam's special friend, Lindsey Bowmer; brothers, Michael Wallace and his friend, Cynthia; Ronnie Wallace and his wife, Kirsten; Eric Wallace and his wife, Candice; sister, Lori Wallace Antal and brother in law, Joe Antal; several wonderful nephews and nieces and a special furry friend, Gracie. Lee will be forever remembered for his enthusiasm for life, his love for family, friends and his congregations. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in Heaven at peace with his Creator. Two memorial services will be held: The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Knoxville First Church of God, 6708 Westland Drive, Knoxville, TN. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 5:00 p.m. The second memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Wyatts Chapel United Methodist Church, 1934 Old Highway 79, Dover, TN for family, cousins and friends in Stewart County. The family will receive friends in Dover from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. (c.s.t.) with the Celebration of Life to follow at 2 p.m. (CST). Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, www.gideons.org who will donate Bibles across the globe to spread the Good News.
