Charles was born on January 7, 1935 in Newburyport, Massachusetts to Charles Peters and Grace Maccarone. He joined the U.S. Navy on March 12, 1952 and served as a Damage Controlman 3rd Class on the USS Tanner (AGS-15) and the USS Briareus until being honorably discharged on December 15, 1955. After separating from the Navy, Charles met the love of his life Fern L. Corson and they were married on April 22, 1966. In 1971, he went to work for Anheuser Busch in Merrimack, NH where he worked as a mechanic/welder for 26 years until he retired in February 1997. During that time, he pursued his desire to serve the Lord through serving people by volunteering in the New Hampshire State Prison Fellowship and Kairos Prison Ministry programs with his wife Fern. Charles was licensed and ordained at First Baptist Church of Milford, NH on June 4, 1989 and earned his Doctorate of Ministry through Newburgh Theological Seminary on June 13, 2015.
