Retired Master Sgt. William Ernest "Bill" Stotler, Sr. , 91 Dec 24, 1928 - Jul 14, 2020 Tilghmanton, MD - Retired Master Sgt. William Ernest "Bill" Stotler, Sr., 91, of Tilghmanton, MD passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 24, 1928 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Charles L. and Anna Mary Rudisill Stotler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Irene Hennesy Stotler in 2013.
Bill served in the United States Air Force.
Bill managed a thoroughbred horse farm in Boonsboro, MD and farmed on various other farms in Boonsboro, MD before his retirement. He was the owner of the White Swan Inn in Boonsboro, MD, worked at Victor Products in Hagerstown, MD and Napa Auto Parts Store in Boonsboro, MD.
He retired from the Air National Guard 167th Airlift Command as a Master Sgt.
He was a member of Clopper-Michael Post #10 American Legion of Boonsboro, MD.
Bill is survived by a son Ernie Stotler and his wife Marshelle of Tilghmanton, MD; granddaughter Stephanie Clever and her husband Chris of Williamsport, MD; great grandsons Colton and Evan Clever of Williamsport, MD; sister Betty Flook of Sharpsburg, MD; brother Harold Stotler of Hagerstown, MD.
He was predeceased by his sisters Maria Stotler, Doris Rutherford, Loraine Hargett Flook, and Audrey Lowery; brothers Baby Boy Stotler, Robert Stotler, Richard Stotler, Edward Stotler, Charles Stotler, George Stotler, Joseph Stotler, Clyde Stotler, and Howard Stotler.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Sunday, July 19, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 12:00 (noon) on Sunday for the convenience of family and friends. Masks are required to enter the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Kibreab Gudeta officiating. Military honors will be provided by Clopper-Michael Post #10 American Legion of Boonsboro, MD.
