Remington Cole Rust went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 15, 2022, in Doss at the age of 36. He was born on September 15, 1986, in San Antonio to Wanda Griffin Kaiser and Olin Thomas Rust.
Cole met his wife, Jamie, in 2014 in Austin, TX. Cole and Jamie moved back to her hometown of Durham, North Carolina, in January of 2016. Upon moving back there, Jamie worked for IBM and Cole attended Wake Technical Community College to study civil engineering. They were married April 20, 2020, in Durham. The two of them volunteered their time at Habitat for Humanity, The American Cancer Society, and a battered women's shelter, and were members of Elevation Church based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Cole always enjoyed the solitude of nature, especially hunting, fishing, hiking, and looking for arrowheads. Cole and Jamie also enjoyed traveling abroad together to places like France, Germany, Iceland, Jamaica, Netherlands, Spain, and the Bahamas. He was a loyal family member and grew up closely alongside his aunt, Rhonda Durst and cousins Wesley Ramsey, Ashley Ramsey, Ty Ramsey, and Shanley Hail.

Parents: Wanda Griffin Kaiser and Olin Rust, and Stepfather Chris Kaiser, all of Fredericksburg, TX
Siblings: Ransom Rust (Ashley) and Alli Riley (Adam) of Fredericksburg, TX
Nieces and Nephews: Brooklyn, Storm, Sonny, and Stone
Mother and Father-in-Law: Jerry and Minda Ratliff of Durham, NC
Brother and Sister-in-Law: Ashley Rust, Adam Riley, Barry Ratliff (Durham, NC) and Jummy Yulo Uy (Durham, NC)
Cole was preceded in death by his grandparents Sparks "Sonny" Rust and Wyvonne Rust of Del Rio, TX, and Carolyn Pauree of Medina, TX.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 25th from 4-6 PM at Schaetter's Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
Graveside services and internment will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 26th at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery in Doss.
A celebration of life will be held at the Doss Country Store following the service.
Memorial contributions and donations can be made in Cole's memory to, Christian Farms Treehouse in Temple, TX, Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation in Kendalia, TX, Doss Volunteer Fire Department, or the charity of one's choice.
