Reinaldo A. Oliveira III, age 40, died peacefully July 11 while surrounded by his family and friends.
Reinaldo was the loving son of Vanessa “Nikki” Amado Oliveira of Onset and Reinaldo Oliveira Jr. of Onset. He grew up in Carver and Onset and attended Wareham Schools and Upper Cape High School where he excelled at baseball and soccer. Coming from a long and proud line of boxers, he followed in his father and uncle Ray Ray’s footsteps becoming an amateur fighter out of his uncle’s gym On Point Boxing in New Bedford.
He loved boxing on so many levels; the dedication, the hard work, the friendships, camaraderie, and of course sparring and fighting. Reinaldo sold cars at Prestige Auto in Westport for many years and was a licensed barber. Most recently he was working for Sun Run Solar in their sales division on the south coast. Reinaldo loved Cape Verdean music and knew all the best dance moves. Reinaldo was a talented gardener who could grow anything and always enjoyed giving away his produce.
The biggest love of Reinaldo’s life was his homelife and his children
He was the loving father of Kailynn, Kaiden, Kaine, Ariana, Reinaldo IV, and Paetyn. Devoted grandfather of Khaylin. Brother of Erica Jean of FL and cousin of Robert and BJ who “were like brothers” to him. Grandson of Marie Amado of Onset. He also leaves behind many loving relatives and dear friends.
All are cordially invited to the Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham MA on for a visitation on Fri. July 22 from 5-8 pm. Funeral procession gathering Saturday July 23 at the funeral home at 9am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patricks Church, 82 High Street Wareham at 10am. Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
