MONROE TOWNSHIP - REBA SHAMES passed at on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Monroe Village. She was 96 years old.
Born in New York City, Reba lived most of her life in New Jersey, including 27 years in Westfield and the last 36 years in Monroe Township.
Reba spent many years working in the business world as an executive secretary and an office manager.
She was predeceased by her husband, Morris, in 2002; her daughter, Rana, in 2003; her son, Mark, in 2020; her sister, Gertrude, in 1993 and her brother, Sydney, in 2019.
Surviving are her daughter, Amy Shames-Luger and her husband, Brian, of East Brunswick; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Reiss, Megan (Richard) Ford, Erin (Jeffrey) Bonno, Allison Barr, Joshua (Lindsay) Luger, and Jonathan Luger.
Also happily included in the family are her great grandchildren, Isabella Reiss, Hunter Bonno, Rocco Ford, Guiliana Ford, Nora Bonno and Grace Ford.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 2:15 pm, at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Lane, Iselin, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick. For directions, please visit our "Services" page.
