Raymond Alfred Tallent, Jr.

Raymond Alfred Tallent, Jr., 79, passed away June 12, 2023, at Effingham Extended Care Center.

The Tennessee native served in the U.S. Army and retired from Norfolk Southern. He was a member of Springfield Oaks Church and the Maturing Disciples Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Alfred Tallent, Sr. and Linnis Opal Cooper Tallent; and brother, Ronnie Tallent.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Tallent; sons, Chip Tallent (Shelley) and Joe Tallent; grandchildren, Maddie Tallent, Emmie Tallent, Rahne Tallent, and Ridley Tallent; great-grandson, Chandler Eason; brother, Jeff Tallent (Cindy); sister, Sandra Sterling (Clarence); and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 5913 Western Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921, on Friday June 30th. Receiving of friends at 5pm and Memorial Service at 6pm. Please park on the Western Ave. side of the church.

Services will be conducted by Rev's Brenda and Larry Carroll.
