Raymond "Ray" Tuscherer, 81 of Apache Junction, AZ and formerly of Onaka, SD passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, AZ.
A private burial will be conducted in Arizona.
Ray Tuscherer was born May 20, 1940 to Remy and Josephine (Binfet) Tuscherer. He lived and farmed in Onaka, SD the majority of his life. Due to his health, he moved to Apache Junction in spring of 2014. He socialized with neighbors including fellow South Dakotans. He enjoyed card games and holidays with his neighbors at the club house. He was fortunate to have the company of many people in his neighborhood and from Onaka. Always enjoyed and much appreciated.
In Ray's free time he enjoyed woodworking and bird watching. He was very close to four of his nephews: Billy and Shane Whiteside and Justin and Brandon Jarvis, who were able to enjoy Uncle Ray's company on the farm and in Arizona.
Ray is survived by his sister-in-law, Loretta Tuscherer of Lennox; Siblings; Eillen Hoffart of Redfield, Don and Vernita Tuscherer of Aberdeen, Sheri and Bill Whiteside of Aberdeen, numerous nieces and nephews along with great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Tuscherer; brother-in-law, Richard Hoffart; nieces, Donnita Jarvis and Lori Ann Tusherer; great nephew, Nathan Baus; and great-great nephew Joshua Jarvis.
