Raymond P. Newberry

Raymond P. Newberry Jr., 97, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

Born on May 18, 1928, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of Raymond P. Newberry Sr. and Stella (Burnett) Newberry.

Raymond was a proud graduate of Austin High School. On July 2, 1949, he married the love of his life, Vivian G. Floyd, in Austin, Indiana. They shared 67 wonderful years of marriage before her passing on July 27, 2016.

Raymond retired from Cummins Engine Company, where he dedicated many years of hard work and craftsmanship. Outside of his career, he embraced a life full of simple joys?fishing, woodworking, cheering on his favorite basketball teams and watching the Hallmark channel year round. He especially enjoyed watching Caitlin Clark play and loved connecting with his great-grandkids through Snapchat, a pastime that brought him much laughter and joy.

He is survived by his son, Tracy R. (Carol Jean) Newberry of Dudleytown, IN; grandchildren Jay (Angie) Newberry, Kyle (Glenna) Newberry, Aaron (Sandra) Newberry, and Emily (Turner) Newberry; great-grandchildren Brady (Olivia) Newberry, Makenna (Noah) Newberry, London Newberry, Aspen Newberry, Reece Newberry, Ava Newberry, and Levi Newberry; great-great-grandchildren Remington Henderson and Tatum Newberry; and his daughter-in-law Patricia Newberry of Crothersville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vivian, his son Phillip L. Newberry on February 28, 2017, and his brother James L. Newberry.

Funeral services will be conducted by Harold Hoeferkamp on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Crothersville, Indiana, with burial to follow at Austin Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on the same day from Noon until 2:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be given to Lutheran Community Home or donors choice.
