Graveside services for Raymond Vernon "RV" Morgan, 83, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Cemetery in Moody, Texas with Pastor H. K. Ballard officiating.
Mr. Morgan was born on August 25, 1940, in Moody, Texas, to the late Joe Sam Morgan and Annie Earle (Clem) Morgan, and died Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in Lufkin, Texas.
"RV" loved to garden and take care of plants. He was an outdoorsman and loved to fish and bird hunt. He loved country music, playing "42" with his brothers, and spending time with his grandchildren. He retired from TU electric in 1997 after many years of faithful service, and he was a faithful Christian as part of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Morgan of Lufkin, TX; son and fianc?, Brian Morgan and Jae Linn Deselle of Huntsville, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jamie Morgan of Lufkin, TX; grandson, David Morgan of Lufkin, TX; grandson, Blake Fountain of Nacogdoches, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Alton and Mary Ann Morgan of Temple, TX; nieces, Stephanie McBride of Danville, Il, and Christy Tallman and her husband Brian of Illinois; along with numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jo Nita McBride; and brother, Randy Morgan.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home.
