Raymond Lykins, 95 of Early, Texas, passed away, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Home. He was a long-time resident of Georgetown, Texas.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 9 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N, I-35, Georgetown, Texas. Rev. Larry Zabcik will be officiating. Burial will follow at Whiteley Cemetery, located about 5 miles West of I-35 in Georgetown along TX 29. Viewing will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, at the funeral home.
Raymond was born January 21, 1924 in Georgetown, Texas to Homer Lykins and Francis May Lykins (Pickens). On May 24, 1952 he married the former Alice Pate in Burnett County, Texas. Raymond was employed at the University of Texas, Austin and retired at age 62. He enjoyed his retirement life by raising Barbados Sheep and chickens. His hobbies were fishing and sitting on the front porch enjoying the cool breeze.
Raymond is survived by his Daughter, Mary Warren and husband John Warren of Houston, Texas, two sons, Perry Lykins and wife Theresa Ziegler Lykins of May, Texas, Steve Lykins and wife Margaret Lykins of Irving, Texas, and daughter-in-law Lois Lykins, of Anton, Texas, brother Alfred Lykins of Austin, Texas, grandchildren, Christine Warren of Houston, Texas, Brian Warren of Houston, Texas, Maria and Eric Sisk of Gordonville, Texas, Sandy Lykins and Matt Fuentez of Temple, Texas, Perry Lykins II and Jessica of Bedford, Texas, Christopher and Rachel Lykins of Round Rock, Texas, Michele and Sam Owens of Italy, Texas, Jolene Gracyn of San Antonio, Texas, Robin and Colton Clark, of Lubbock, Texas, Colby and Micah Lykins of Lubbock, Texas and Christian Lykins of Anton, Texas, several great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Francis May Lykins, and his wife Alice Lykins (Pate), sisters, Buelah Kelly, Lottie Dittrich, Roxie Burklund, son Raymond Neal Lykins, and grandson Michael Lykins.
