Raymond F. Landis was born in Baltimore, MD on August 11, 1946. He died on April 3, 2024 at the age of 77.
Upon completing high school, he joined the Navy and served for four years. Ray was a petty officer third class. He sailed on the U.S.S. Keppler Destroyer and the U.S.S. John Willis Destroyer, which took him to England, Norway, and Italy. He became an accountant after completing his duty.
Ray was a giving and generous man. He took care of his mother, Mary Edwards, in Florida and his stepfather, Jim Barnes, in Chincoteague, Virginia until their deaths.
Ray married his wife, Deborah, on July 4, 2010, in Chincoteague, where they lived for several years before settling in Viewtown, Virginia. He always said he waited for the "right one" to come along. He married for the first time at the age of 64.
Ray enjoyed listening to music, and especially collecting statistics about 1950s rock music. He loved living in the quiet mountains of Virginia later in his life.
