Raymond Elton Hughes

SEMINOLE..... Funeral services for Raymond Hughes, 90, will be conducted Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the South Seminole Baptist Church with the Rev. Buck Wheat officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. He passed away Thursday, May 7th in Comanche, Texas.

Raymond was born February 8, 1930 in Lamesa, Texas to Shannon and Ruby Murray Hughes. He served in the United States Army in Korea from March 1951 - December 1952. Raymond and Bessie Ward were married June 1962. He was a self-employed truck driver and a member of the South Seminole Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie Hughes in September 2010, two grandsons Bill Vuicich, Jr. and Chance Hughes, a brother Curtis Hughes in 1969 and a sister Ruby Hughes on March 31, 2020.

Raymond is survived by five children Brenda Gayle Cross of Marietta, Oklahoma, Elton Ray Hughes of Lindsey, Texas, Richard Allen Hughes of Lindsey, Texas, Sheila Marie Vuicich of Brownwood and Gene Hughes of Seminole; along with 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4400 North Bis Spring C-32, Midland, Texas 79705.
