Raymond A. DiNicola, 69, a resident of Salem, NH and formerly of Pittsfield, MA passed away on Monday, August 15th at Holy Family Hospital.
He was born and educated in Pittsfield, MA, the son of the late Lucia (DiMaleo) and Vito DiNicola. Raymond graduated from St. Joseph's High School and Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA. He was program director for Berkshire County Arc for many years. Raymond was a volunteer for several organizations, including the Pittsfield Auxiliary Police Unit. He was an active member and Eucharistic minister of Mt. Carmel Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. After Mt. Carmel closed, he joined St. Charles Catholic Church in Pittsfield. After moving to Salem, he attended Mary Queen of Peace Church. Raymond was devoted to his family and he loved to spend time with and spoil his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, cigars and Elvis. Raymond loved the 4th of July and Christmas and had fun playing Santa. He also was a big fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants.
Raymond will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 47 years, Deborah DiNicola of Salem, NH; his daughters, Laura Lemay and husband Michael of Salem, NH and Sarah Sequeira and husband John of Framingham, MA; his 3 adored grandchildren, Michael, Kirsten and Lucy and many beloved cousins that were more like siblings.
There is no visitation. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 19th at 11:00 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd. Salem, NH 03079. Please arrive at church by 10:45 AM. A celebration of life and burial of the urn will be in Pittsfield, MA in September at a date to be determined. Memorial contributions in Raymond's name may be sent to Berkshire County Arc, 359 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
