Chief Kenneth Ray Bellamy, Sr., 60, of Beech Island, SC, entered into rest on Friday, January 01, 2021, following a brief illness, in the comfort of his home.
A lifelong area resident, he was a son of Forrest Williams Cauthen and the late James Dewitt Bellamy, Sr. He was a graduate of Jackson High School. A dedicated public servant, he was Chief of the Sage Mill Fire Department and he also served on the Beech Island Fire Department. He enjoyed collecting bottle openers, NASCAR, four wheeling, camping, watching the Andy Griffith show and let us not forget, watching the Hallmark Channel. More than anything however, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, River Grace Bellamy and Kanaan Rafe Bellamy.
In addition to his parents and grandchildren, family members include his only son, Kenneth Ray Bellamy and his wife, Cortney, Macon, GA and siblings and their spouses, Kurt and Cindy Bellamy, Beech Island, SC, Debbie and John Eargle, North Augusta, SC and the late Butch Bellamy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2020, at 11 o'clock at Lakeside Baptist Church. Following the service, Ray will be escorted by his fellow firefighters to the Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island Cemetery for inurnment with Firefighters honors.
The family has asked that no food or flowers be sent and that memorials in Ray's memory be made to the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation. (www.burnfoundation.net)
