Raul Jaime Garza, 55, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on Sunday morning, September 11, 2022, at Amara Hospice, surrounded by his family. Raul Jaime was born on May 9, 1967 to Dr. Roman R. Garza + and Adelina G. Garza.
Raul was a dedicated son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend. He loved to cook and especially get together with his friends and cousins to BBQ and make pan de campo. He loved his pets and was dedicated to caring for the horses and the plants. Raul enjoyed music and listening to the radio, and especially loved playing the accordion and guitar. Fishing, hunting, riding and fixing motorcycles were just some of his pastimes.
As an A/C contractor, he was a master of his trade. Raul was very creative in his artwork and also his ingenuity in everyday moments. He never met a stranger, and as much as Raul enjoyed the restaurants and bars in McAllen, he could have just as easily lived in a cabin in the woods. Many knew Raul to be kind, helpful, gentle, and polite. He will be greatly missed by all.
Raul Jaime was preceded in death by his father Dr. Roman R. Garza. He is survived by his mother Adelina G. Garza; his sister Sonia G. Silva (Mark), his two brothers: Roman R. Garza, Jr. (Sue), and Jorge L. Garza (Crissy); his nieces: Ariana Silva, Sophia Silva, and Regan Duleba; his nephews: Jacob Garza, Luke Garza, and Roy Duleba. He also is survived by many close cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
We wish to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and entire staff who cared for him at Amara Hospice and Rio Grande Regional Hospital.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for Visitation at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen on Sunday, September 18th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 19th, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (Chapel) at 10:00 a.m., followed by a burial service at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Taylor Road in McAllen, Texas.
