Randy Lee Eppinger passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his home in Wadsworth, Ohio.
Randy was born on November 3, 1971 to the late Garnet (Beth) Elizabeth (Burkhart) Coalgrove and Jerry Lee Eppinger in Barberton, Ohio. He graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1990 and Kent State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
In 2017, Randy opened his own consulting company, Eppinger Consulting, LLC., helping businesses utilize technology efficiently and effectively.
His true calling in life, however, was ministering for the Lord. Randy was an unyielding believer in Jesus Christ. He served in many roles at his church, Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, including on the Board of Trustees and on the church Council. He also led and served on the audio/visual team for Sunday services and special events; he preached and taught in the church; he served on the cleaning team; he ran the church website, wrote policies and procedures, and he also performed as an actor in church plays. No job was too small for Randy when it came to helping his church.
Randy's ministering went beyond the walls of this church, however. He was an active supporter of Children of Promise, sponsoring many children of need across the globe by financing their education, healthcare, nutrition, and discipleship. His ministry included being there for others, especially his family. During difficult times others could always count on him to provide love, support and a listening ear.
In his free time, Randy enjoyed all things tech and sci-fi. He would have long, in-depth discussions with his son Josh about new technology or the latest Marvel movies. They share a very similar personality; their connection evident to all and their laughter together contagious. As a family, they enjoyed watching Mystery Science Theatre and old "B"- rated movies together. His extended family would say Randy could talk for hours about most any topic; he had a very analytical brain and could bring intricate viewpoints to the table which would not often have been thought of by others.
Randy is preceded in death by his grandmother, Thelma Eppinger, mother Garnet Elizabeth (Beth) and stepfather Larry Coalgrove. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cathy, and their son, Josh. He is additionally survived by his father Jerry, Aunt Wilda Burkhart, Uncle Frank Burkhart (Anna), a sister, Janet Dye (Ken), and a brother, Jerry Eppinger Jr (Chip), nieces & nephew Ashley Lewis, Logan Lewis (Megan) and Kameron Eppinger.
