Mr. Randolph Warren Polk of Main Street in Varnville, died Sunday morning in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Polk was born August 17, 1930 in Varnville, a son of the late Russell Elliott Polk and Venie Cook Polk. He had retired from the Tool and Die Department at Westinghouse, and later along with his wife owned and operated Polk's Grocery Store in Frog Hollow near Varnville. He had severed in the Army, was past President of the local Union at Westinghouse, and had served as Fire Chief with the Varnville Fire Department.
Surviving are: Sons: David Alen Polk of Spartanburg, and Marcus Randall Polk and wife June of Winnsboro; Grandchildren: Sara Danielle Polk Tingler, Jackie Talbert and husband Jeff, Billie Kay Smith and husband Calvin, and Victoria Altman and husband Chris. There are 11 Great Grandchildren.
Mr. Polk was predeceased by his wife, June Massengale Polk, a son, Daniel Warren Polk, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly, with burial in the Gooding Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday morning beginning at 10 A.M. at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton, prior to the service.
The family would like to recognize the Nursing Staff, Nursing Techs, Emergency Room Staff, and the Intensive Care Unit for their superior care and service at the Hampton Regional Medical Center.
