Ramona Holmes of Caldwell went home to be with Jesus on October 4, 2022, one day after her 92nd birthday. Ramona was born to Jacob (Jack) and Annetta Wolt on October 3, 1930, in Logan County, North Dakota. She married Elwin Holmes on December 31, 1950, in the Nazarene Church in Caldwell during the morning church service. They immediately set out for Wichita Falls, Texas, where Elwin was stationed in the Air Force. After three years in Texas, Elwin and Ramona returned to the family farm on Lower Pleasant Ridge Road where she lived until her death. Ramona loved God and her family. She and Elwin prayed together every night. Ramona was a faithful Christian and raised her children to love God. She also loved reading, and read up until shortly before her death. She studied the stock market and enjoyed football. Her grandchildren all have special memories of times spent with her. Ramona is survived by Elwin, her husband of 71 years; her children: Cindy Baldwin (Dee) Roberts, Susan (Terry) Cane, David (Christi) Holmes; grandchildren: Brian (Hilary) Baldwin, Brenton (Jenni) Baldwin, Amanda (RJ) Wolgemuth, Andrew (LeAhnna) Holmes; great-grandchildren: Allyson and Aston Baldwin, Declan and Teagan Baldwin, James, Adam, and Luke Wolgemuth, Everett and Amelia Holmes and four nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Marvin, and son-in-law Dennis Baldwin. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022, at 2:30pm at Lower Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Caldwell under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
