Ramon Wallen, Sr., 82 passed away January 9, 2023. He was born on December 07, 1940, in London, England to Margaret "Peggy" (Wallen) Roberson who survives.
Ramon served proudly in the United States Army. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a Medic and during his career earned 2 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry as well several other medals and retired as a Master Sergeant from Ft. Campbell, KY after 20+ years meritorious service. With great honor he earned his US citizenship through his time of service.
Along with his mother, Peggy of Killen, AL Ramon is survived by his daughter, Denise (Justin Halter) Roth of Fort Wayne, IN; sons, Ramon (Connie) Wallen of Irmo, South Carolina, Frank Wallen of Mishawaka, Indiana; sister, Margaret Stanton, two neices Sheila and Sherry, two Great nephews and his loving cat,"Tigger".
He was a fan of music enjoying everything from Eminen, Nirvana to Elvis. His friends knew him best as either "Sarge" or "Grouch". Everyone who met him knew him as feisty with a great sense of humor and big heart.
Per his final wishes, no services will be held.
