Ralph W. "Duke" Westcott, Sr., of Rome, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021. He was born in Rome on November 1, 1962, a son of the late Richard Z. Westcott Sr. and Mary Porter. On November 14, 1992, he was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Dorene Drake.
Duke owned and operated Duke's Electric for over 25 years. He was loved and respected as a maintenance director at Kamp Kiwanis for the last four years. He was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hunt, fish and ride his motorcycle. He loved his Coors Lite, junk food and country music. Duke was friendly, outgoing, and witty with a sarcastic sense of humor. He was very family oriented and loved to spend time with them.
Surviving besides his loving wife, Dorene, are three daughters, Jessica Westcott Williamson (John), Brittany Westcott (Marc) and Dorene Westcott; two sons, Ralph "J R" Westcott, Jr. and Christopher Westcott; three brothers, Edward Westcott (Theresa), Clayton Westcott (Tami) and David Archer; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Nora Thurston; and a brother, Richard Westcott Jr.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 23rd at 2:45 p.m. at Lee Valley Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fundraiser has been created to help offset expenses and donations can be made on Duke's webpage at www.nunnandharper.com .
