Ralph M. Henry, Jr., 88, Markleton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2020 from In Touch Hospice, Somerset. He was born July 21, 1931 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, a son of Ralph M. and Irene (Leaphart) Henry. His parents, grandparents, Harvey and Alice (Liston) Henry, who raised him, a son, Jack Calvin, sister, Irene and brothers, Vyrl and Blair preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Loretta (Pletcher) and sons, Brett, Markleton and Bradley, Somerset. Junior was a member of the Old Bethel Church, where he sang in the choir and in earlier years drove the church bus. He was an active member of the New Centerville Vol. Fire. Dept. for as long as his health would permit. He belonged to Somerset Lodge #639 F. and A. M. and was a member of Kingwood I.O.O. F. Lodge 1010. He was a member of the Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery Assoc. for nearly 50 years and served as its president for 35 years. He also served as president of the Kingwood Picnic Assoc. for 28 years. His early employment included driving a freight truck for EMD for several years, cutting timber and owning and operating a saw mill. He retired from Soberdash Coal Co. Due to current health regulations, there will be no public viewing. Funeral services will be private followed by interment in Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Old Bethel Church, 227 Old Bethel Rd., Markleton, PA 15551 or to In Touch Hospice, 1474 N. Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
