Rachael Anne Burks passed away, at home, on March 22nd at the age of 46. Rachael grew up in upstate New York, earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she first met her loving husband Fulmer. They made their home in Rappahannock County, Virginia with their four beautiful children.

Most recently, she served as a risk, regulatory and infection control practitioner for Valley Health, supporting hospitals in both Virginia and West Virginia, primarily at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray, Virginia.
Rachael was a self-proclaimed plant lady and an avid chef. She loved book club, timeless style, and entertaining family and friends. When not taking care of others, she could be found shopping for French cookware or the perfect shade of lipstick.
She is survived by her husband Fulmer Lee Burks Jr. and children Madeline Margaret Fowler, Jackson George Fowler, Isabel "Izzy" Rosemarie Burks, and Christine Grace "Gracie" Burks. She is also survived by loving parents Karen Jean Ingraham, Lee Ingraham, sisters Juliana Young and Kristen Ingraham, mother-in-law Amanda Burks (Fulmer Lee Burks Sr.), brother-in-law Charles Burks, beloved nieces Gabrielle, Emma, and Olivia, nephew William, dearest cousin Christine Schirmer, many extended family and lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be planned for May 4th at 4:30 p.m. in Rappahannock County, with details to be shared once finalized. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you plant a favorite bloom in your own home or garden, to enjoy every year.
